Honeymoon-ing!

I have been really excited to write this post! It's about the destination of our honeymoon! Some of you knew and some of you didn't.... but I sure didn't know where we were going for our honeymoon! Michael planned it all and kept it a surprise for me!  So picking up where my last blog left off, we drove away from our reception as the sun was setting. I didn't even know where Mike was taking me! It's quite an exciting adventure to get in a car with your new husband and have no idea where you are going! Plus it was an added treat to have everybody smile and wave at our decorated car and my fluffy dress occupying the passenger seat on our way. ;)  We got onto the northbound entrance as Michael told me we were going to Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake City! I was really excited to actually stay in the city and stay at Anniversary Inn. My parents and siblings have stayed there before and it was somewhere I have always wanted to spend the night. It was perfect for...

June 1, 2012

I have been thinking for weeks about what I could write to give an accurate description of our wedding day. Wanting to remember every significant detail, (which seems to be everything) every face, every tear, every smile... but how can you put into words something so beautiful and perfect? I played the day over and over in my head and came to the conclusion there is no way to really write how I felt. That day was more than I had dreamed! It was so relaxing and so peaceful! Simply elegant and classic! We were surrounded by everybody we loved and everybody was there to celebrate the joyous occasion of Michael and I being sealed for time and all eternity! I couldn't be happier. With that being said, I will try to re-cap the wedding week. That week started off with my mother and I visiting the Draper and Jordan River temples on Tuesday to do an endowment session and another one on Wednesday in Manti. It was a special feeling to be wrapped up in the gospel and so close to the happy ...

Be where your feet are...

A couple weeks ago I spent a night watching several "I'm a mormon" videos (Visit " here " to see the website). One phrase particularly stood out to me. She said "Be where your feet are." I have repeated it to myself over the last few weeks and I am living by this motto. It essentially means that you don't need to worry about the past or even worry about the future... be where your feet are... in this current moment. I must admit I am guilty when it comes to planning every second of the month(s) and evaluate the last month(s). However, I have changed my outlook on life. It is no secret about the amount of stress I have been under. Between nursing school and having class 4 days a week and working the other 3 AND planning the wedding, It gets stressful... but now is the time to embrace it!  I have come to really enjoy life as an engaged couple. Michael and I have so much fun together and I am amazed at how much he can accomplish in one day! He is ...

Becoming a "Hunt"

This past weekend was a BLAST! Mike's dad and step-mom came to St. George with Mike's little brother, Sam, and little sister, Grace. It was so much fun to have his family in St. George and to have spent so much time with them! This also gave me the opportunity to see the family name I was taking on. :) It started on Friday night by going to dinner with his family and his grandparents. I have seen them before at the airport for Mike's missionary homecoming, but we didn't talk much at that time. We were able to get the usual "Where are you from? Who is in your family? Are you going to school?" and all other questions out in the open. Dinner was a great ice-breaker and a catalyst for the rest of the weekend! Saturday morning Michael and I went to Washington to celebrate his family ancestor with the rest of his family. She was the first school teacher in Washington City and this past week would have been her 200th birthday. It was neat to learn she was from Du...

Four months to go!

With four months to go... where are we at with planning? Well I'm proud to say we are almost done with wedding planning! It will be okay if you pat us on the back in a celebratory fashion next time you see us. In all reality, with both us working and having a rigorous school schedule we wanted to de-stress and get as much done as soon as possible. Of course, we have to attribute most of our success to our lovely family. My mother and my sister have been phenomenal and essential in the planning process. I sometimes contemplate telling them to open up a wedding planning office. They know everything we want, how we want, and when we want things and they have done an insane amount of work to help create our dream wedding. We can not tell them thank you enough! We are so grateful and love them so much! A couple weekends ago there was a bridal fair in St. George where my mom, sister, and her family came down to visit. On Saturday morning the girls went and picked out my wedding dress...

The firsts of many firsts

With the new year well on it's way, drastic changes and eventful/lenthy days did not wait long to present themselves to Mike and me. Among this, "new leaf" so-to-speak are a few of our firsts. Sarah&Mike: 1. First time Michael and Sarah did baptisms for the dead at the St. George temple together. 2. First foreign roommate for Sarah. Her name is Inna and she is from Russia! 3. First college experience for Mike. He is officially a college student. :) 4. First time Sarah is taking 20 credits in college (wouldn't recommend it- especially while in the nursing program and holding down a job). 5. First time Sarah applied for gradutaion- which she will be graduating this spring with her Associate Degree! Yeeeeah Buddy! 6. First time Mike and Sarah are taking an institute class together for engaged and newlywed couples. It is titled  "Building and Eternal Marriage." This year is definitely OUR YEAR! I was talking with my sister on the phone yesterday we...

December 25th in his eyes

Christmas morning started off different for me... I knew I was going to propose to the woman I was completely in love with.  Although I was certain she would say yes (from the fact of her reminding me constantly to do it) I had never been more nervous and anxious in my entire life!  My proposal plan was in the christmas gift.  I got her a snow globe with our pictures inside of it and a recorded voice that popped the question.  As that would happen I would kneel down with the ring and she would immediately say yes. I was praying that all would be well...There was only one thing on my mind that day, what would happen in the entire minute of that proposal. When we arrived to the Roseman's home, I tried to find a time when I could talk to Sarah's dad Kelly to ask permission to marry his daughter. When the moment arrived for that, he was in the garage looking for things. As I was about to ask, Sarah walked in and saw us and immediately shut the door. I thought she knew ...
